- This document lists the foundational goals that I believe every teacher must work on throughout the school year in order to create an educational environment in which students and parents can serve as active participants.  Each year a teacher is introduced to a brand-new group of students and these goals need to be achieve all over again.  Each group of students will bring on their own strengths and challenges and also their own set of goals that need to be achieved.  Even though the teacher will work on them all year, these goals are only to serve as a foundation for beginning the school year.

- What distinguishes you from other candidates?  Resumes are an evolving document. As teaching experience grows and more degrees are earned. A teacher’s resume documents a commitment to education and learning.

- What do you believe about learning and education?  Learning is an active process and education needs to prepare students for the 21st Century.  A teacher’s philosophy is his/her declaration about what education can and should be.  The philosophy allows students, parents, and administrators to have a glimpse into the teacher’s classroom before entering the building.

- Through the courses that I have completed and the experiences that I have had in the classroom during my first year of teaching,  I feel that I am well prepared in this area.  I have been able to use my understanding of the content and other district required curricula to create authentic and meaningful educational opportunities for students.  I am continuously working on developing my professional knowledge and skills to make myself the best possible teacher that I can be.
