Technology Application and Integration
- Today's students must be provided with a 21st Century Education and the only way to accomplish this is to integrate technology into classroom instruction, implementation, and assessment. Technology allows students to organize knowledge, create products, communicate, and reflect. The use of technology serves as both a teaching and a learning tool. Successful technology application and integration builds a foundation of skills that learners use to build their knowledge base while making sense of the world around them. -

- I created this documentary about our local community to serve as an instructional tool in our Social Studies Curriculum. We discuss the growth and change of communities over the course of time, but students have a hard time relating these concepts to our own community. Through the creation of this documentary I have been able to show how our town began and many of the different changes that have taken place to make our town what it is now. My goal is that students will be able to apply the concepts of growth and change to their own community and make a deeper, more personal, connection to the material because it is linked to their everyday lives. |
Introduction to Blogging |
- The development of technology has increased the ability of people to communicate with one another. Without dialing a long-distance phone call, students can participate in blogging and communicate with people from around the world. This presentation was created to explain the different ways that blogging could be used in the classroom to promote discussion about classroom content. Students can use blogging to conduct a discussion between students in the classroom, share information with students in a different class, or even hold a debate on a topic with a classroom from another part of the country. |
Web 2.0 Tools |
- In order to provide a 21st Century Education to our students, teachers must be using technology in the classroom. Technology can raise budget issues; however, teachers can find several free technology applications online that will allow the integration of technology at a low cost. Web 2.0 tools are web-based tools that are free for teachers and students to use. In this presentation I also highlight what makes these particular tools easy to use in the classroom and different ways that students can benefit from use these interactive technologies. |
